Jonah Goodman | Industrial Designer
Hi There, i’m Jonah!
As an industrial designer, my practice exists at the intersection of the organic and the technological. From co-founding a venture-backed medical device company to fermenting artisanal pickles, my journey weaves together diverse elements that reflect my belief in design as a living, evolving process. I see design as a tool for healing and connection—where form and function meet to address the most pressing challenges of our time.
My experience as a fermentation chef taught me that the smallest natural systems, like those in a SCOBY, can foster growth, transformation, and healing. And my experience designing for first responders living with chronic pain showed me just how many gaps still exist in healthcare—how many needs go unmet, and how much potential design has to make a real difference. This philosophy carried over into my design work, and as such each project I undertake challenges me to push the boundaries of what materials can do rooted in the belief that we can design a future that is more adaptive, sustainable, and connected to the earth.
Through my work, I strive to blur the lines between the natural and the engineered, always with an eye toward crafting designs that foster resilience, innovation, and well-being for both individuals and the planet.
